    Hi Dear Calligra devs,
Could you please “FIX” Calligra files “compatibility” with Micro$oft files first, before another Calligra release? Because every time I create a document on Calligra and then I open it on M$ office, the document is a disaster, for instance: no format is preserved, no copy and paste from a webpage to Words, no picture crop on Words, etc.
    Thanks in advance.

    • Inge Wallin says:

Hmm, since Calligra only imports from MS formats and doesn’t export to them I think that your problems is caused by bad compatibility with ODF in MS Office rather than anything else. Which version of MS Office are you running? If you want us to make concrete progress on this I suggest to go to bugs.kde.org and register specific things that are not working.

Regarding copy/paste from webpages, that’s something I thought was working actually. Once again, can you register a concrete bug, perhaps even with some test data?

Finally, picture crop is indeed a missing feature. Sorry about that. But it has nothing to do with MS compatibility, it’s just not implemented yet.

I was wondering where calligra-kthesaurus has got to.

It appears to have been dropped or missed.

Please reconsider including it if it has been dropped.
It provides the most wonderful interface to wordnet (the lexical database)
and it would be a shame to leave it out now that calligra has revived the koffice suite.

    Thanks,

    Hugh

I’ve also been missing this. It seems the whole spell checking / thesaurus is currently missing features or useability.
I am trying to transition more to the Calligra suite, so I am just now starting to notice the things I miss.

  3. dh says:

https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/104654/ and other sites I’ve found seem to indicate the thesaurus code was removed as part of a housekeeping and maintainability operation :-(
Hopefully somebody knowledgeable enough to re-implement this feature will get an itch and scratch it

  4. Alex says:

    Hi!
Where can I get Kexi for Windows?
in calligra-2.5.4 release (binary) by KO GmbH it is missing.

    • Inge Wallin says:

Unfortunately you cannot yet. Kexi for windows lacks a maintainer that can fix the build problems and keep the build up to date. KO has some people maintaining Words/Sheets/Stage plus Krita, but no Kexi experts.
